Instead of Medical supplies and 1100 doctors, I'd have offered 666 doctors and a bag of cotton candy.

Bush stacks bike into policeman
US President George W Bush grazed his hands when he collided with a police officer while cycling through the grounds of Gleneagles, the Scottish luxury hotel where world leaders are meeting.

Mr Bush, celebrating his 59th birthday, went for a ride shortly after arriving for the summit of the Group of Eight (G8) major powers, White House spokesman Scott McClellan said.

The collision with the policeman, on security duty, occurred about a hour into his ride, with Mr Bush going at a "pretty good speed", Mr McClellan said.

Mr Bush slid along the road, suffering scrapes on his hands and arms that were bandaged by the White House doctor.

His bicycle was damaged and he had to return from the ride in a van, but his plans to have dinner with Queen Elizabeth were not affected.

The officer was taken to hospital as a precaution.

Current Mood: amusedamused
From Sarah:

The government today announced that it is changing its emblem from an Eagle to a CONDOM because it more accurately reflects the government's political stance.

A condom allows for inflation, halts production, destroys the next generation, protects a bunch of pricks, and gives you a sense of security while you're actually being screwed.

Damn, it just doesn't get more accurate than that.

Am I the only one who finds it shameful at the double standards some people/countries have. It's not right for YOU to do or have that, but it's ok for me.

Current Mood: crazycrazy
Tampa Bay's 10 News:
Saint Petersburg, Florida -- An attorney says he plans legal action against St. Petersburg police officers who handcuffed an unruly 5-year-old girl after she acted up in her kindergarten
class.

A video camera was rolling March 14 as part of a classroom self-improvement exercise. The camera captured images of the girl tearing papers off a bulletin board, climbing on a table and punching an assistant principal before police were called to Fairmount Park Elementary.

Then it shows the child appearing to calm down before three officers approach, pin her arms behind her back and put on handcuffs as she screamed, 'No!'

Largo lawyer John Trevena let the news media see the tape this week after obtaining he got it from police.

The attorney says it's incomprehensible that the police officers would bend a child over a table and forcibly handcuff her.

CBC News: Destroy mislabelled pandemic flu samples, WHO tells labs: "Destroy mislabelled pandemic flu samples, WHO tells labs

CBC News

OTTAWA -
Canadian scientists were the first to spot a pandemic flu strain that was mistakenly sent to labs in 18 countries, sparking an urgent recall by the WHO on Tuesday.

* INDEPTH: Flu

A U.S. company sent mislabelled samples of the H2N2 influenza that triggered a pandemic in 1957 to nearly 5,000 labs worldwide, as part a routine testing program.

Since the strain hasn't infected humans since 1969 and it is not included in flu shots, people under the age of 37 have no immunity to H2N2.

Although the risk of a laboratory accident causing a pandemic was low, WHO urged scientists to immediately destroy the materials."
